Disease - Smut of bajra
C.O. - Tolyposporium penicillariae

The pathogen infects the florets and transform them into large plump sori (sacs) containing black powder(smut pores). When young the sori are larger and greener then the non infected developing seeds, and they remain green when the normal seeds become creamy or grey coloured. As the sori mature they become dark brown and are easily broken, spilling out millions of black smut spore balls.
